Dr. Mina Cooper

Dr. Cooper was born and raised in Mexico, she studied veterinary medicine at the University of Veracruz and graduated in 2005, after this she earned a Master’s Degree in Animal Health at the University of Yucatan and graduated in 2007. She moved to the United States in 2008 to work at Smithfield Farms and since then she completed the Foreign Graduated Veterinary Program PAVE and has been practicing veterinary medicine in South Carolina and North Carolina since 2010. She especially enjoys Emergency Medicine and Surgery in small animals.

She was married in 2015 and has a baby-girl named Lucy. Dr. Cooper has a cat named Kiri-Kiri and one Female Labrador named Matata. She enjoys travelling, especially to the beach with her family. Dr. Cooper took over Stony Point Animal Clinic in December 2016, since then she has expanded with a Grooming department and has started agreements with the Pet Rescue Associations in Yucatan to provide charity spay and neuters to homeless pets.

Alejandro Carvajal Flores (Alex)

Alex is our Equine Technician which will soon become a Veterinarian at Stony Point Animal Clinic. He arrived from Mexico in March to become the back bone in our Equine Department. He studied Veterinary Medicine at the University Of Yucatan and graduated in 2012. Since then he has been teaching Equine Medicine in Mexico City. Alex is married and has an adorable baby girl named Zazill. He is very passionate about horses. He has a horse named Jack and 3 cats named Prrr, Balam, and Flaquis.

Denise Teague (Nisey)

Denise is our friendly Receptionist, technician, and go to person. She has been working for Stony Point Animal Clinic for 14 years. She has lived in Alexander County all of her life. Denise has 3 dogs Renny, Puppy, and Rudy. She also has 2 horses Joe and Odell. She has 1 son and a Daughter n law Josh and Brandi. In Denise’s spare time she loves to ride horses, go camping, and read.

Katherine Bafundo (Kat)

Kat was born in Kansas and was raised in NC. She has 5 years experience in small and large animal. Kat is our head technician and loves surgery the most. She has cats, dogs, and snakes. In her spare time Kat loves to be outdoors kayaking and hiking. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends.
